BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Tue Jul 21, 2009, 11:22 PM
Far from a complete review, since I've only had it for about a day and have only played as Taokaka, just a few thoughts on it. The writing, at least so far as I've played, is completely hilarious. As I play other characters, I'm sure I'll see a more dramatic side to it, but as far as Taokaka is concerned (and I dare say Shishigami Bang, from his part is Tao's story) the comedy is gold. The dubbing..... Unless you just have to have it dubbed, go with the Japanese dialogue. The opening bit in the story mode, I don't think the woman that speaks is voiced by a woman. Really bad voice, there. The kid who speaks isn't much better, and the monotone is pretty bad... It was pretty painful listening to one guy try to say Ikaruga.
And since I have it on 360, the d-pad is pretty rough to use. Luckily, the game works wonderfully with the analog stick. Adapted to it with no problem. Might even be able to play Street Fighter 4 with the analog stick as well, just have to try it out later.
Might have more to say about it after using a few other characters, we'll see. But for now, I do recommend the game if you like 2D fighters.
